Our Boys of Fall, the Band of Brothers!
We have had a great fall season for 2023! Fall is great to work on skills and get prepared for the next level of play. As fall winds down, we are deep into getting ready for our off-season and putting together an even better 2024! We have big things planned for our community and we appreciate everyone being a part of it!

E.A.T.?
We have a term we use at the infield camps. We say, “It’s time to E.A.T.!”
E.A.T. = Effort, Attitude, Thoughts
We went as far as making a shirt on the M-Pact fan store that has that saying on it with “control the controllables” in between it.
Because we can control those three things, effort, attitude, and our thoughts.
Today we wanted to cover the E, “effort”.
Image Caption: 2028 Player Daythan putting every thing he has into scoring a run for his team. Effort is contagious too!
Using baseball as an example, we have all seen the kid that is willing to dive for the ball or runs the bases like a mad man. But have you ever noticed that player that isn’t the best on the team, maybe not even in the lineup that day being the first one running out to pick up baseballs or first one to volunteer to play catch with the outfielders between innings? Whatever that moment is calling for, he or she will give their full effort and attention too.
We don’t always have control over things or events that happen to us but we can control our effort and how we respond to that event.
We asked our high school players this question and we wanted to pose it to everyone.
Are you a thermostat or a thermometer?
Does the effort you put in SET the temperature of the room or does your effort just change based on outside events?
A thermometer can only read the temperature it cant do anything to change it but a thermostat controls that temperature!
Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Our effort is up to us. How we act, how much we give, what we chose to work at, are all choices we make daily. Some are small choices that add up and others are major decisions, but that effort is what we have control over.

God chose us to do work for him to glorify him and show how great his gift of love is to us.
He also promised us to follow him would not be easy. We would face many trials and many difficulties. But every hardship we endure, every trial that comes our way is shaping us into the best version of ourselves.
The parting question for today is:
Can I be the thermostat to change my environment for the better?
Tryout Day
We will be holding tryouts for our spring/summer season on November 5th at the M-Pact fields. We have very few spots to fill and we are not looking at forming any new teams. We believe there is a healthy balance in how many teams we have and more importantly, how many are committed to following the M-Pact culture.

The tryout in July brought us some great additions to most of our teams so we want to see who is interested in possibly playing for us this coming season. If you are high school age or 8th grade, we are asking all players to attend the tryout. We will hold this tryout then take a short break and get ready for our pre-season training. Player Development Time
Pitching with NAIA Pitcher of the Year Eli Davis
Our goal at M-Pact beyond our culture is to develop the full player. Not just force feed players on winning trophies. We want our kids to understand that getting better is a process and not an overnight result. We have wanted to provide lessons from people we feel is going to teach our players the right way. We could not be happier to bring Eli Davis on staff to help us with pitching. Beyond being a great pitcher, Eli was also a great all around high school player winning OK HS player of the year and 3 state championships. He knows what it takes to be a great all around player. Below is the link to book Eli for lessons and for fun, take a look at Eli leading Shawnee HS to multiple state titles!
Final Thoughts
Bitter vs. Better? The choice is as simple as changing a single letter, "I". You have the control to make any situation better. Think of something other than "I" and see the room change!
